State Fair 2006

Yesterday was supposed to be such a great day. Instead it ended up being complete and utter crap!

It started out early in the day, when I found out that we were going to have to try to squeeze 10 people in a 7 passenger van. Yeah, that was great new to hear at like 10 in the morning! So after that I spent about the next 30 to 45 min. on the phone with our driver trying to figure out how to get everyone down to the fair. Ultimately while we were figuring this out, we found out that two of the people couldn't go and so we were down to 8 people in the van. After that other little drama-wanabe situations came up and by that time I was just like "Screw this....I don't care anymore!"

Finally though, It came time to leave for the fair. Emmy came over a little while before Gerad was picking people up, so that we could get ready. Yeah, that was fun. After we finally got everyone and squeezed Casey, Joaquin, Megan, and Keeks in the back, we went to see if we could free Nick. (F.Y.I. Yes it was wrong, but our excuse is that Keeks weighs like nothing.....Literally. So all those people could (and did) fit comfortably in the back.)

Yeah, heading to Nick's was fun simply because Gerad can't follow simple directions and when you say turn here, he wants to go straight. So yeah, after practically screaming at him the whole way, we finally got there. Thank god we saw Sydney, otherwise we would have missed it. But anyways, once we got there it took a little bit of effort to get everyone out of the car. It was air conditioned and no one wanted to get out. Finally everyone did get out and we headed inside. Yeah, that was fun cuz no one knew where the hell we were going. So yeah, we stood around for like 15-20 min, find out he can't leave yet, and are like screw this why are we still standing here.......Cream puffs await!

Yeah, heading down was not so amusing. The four people in the back were acting all.......yeah. I just kept changing the radio station just to keep myself busy cuz I didn't want to hear all that crap they were saying. When we finally got there we got super sweet parking. Gerad had forgotten to take the handicap sticker off his mom's car so we got to park in the infield of the Mile. It was nice 'cuz we didn't have to walk as far to the gate to get in.

As soon as we got in, I was all "Keep up or you are getting left behind 'cuz I'm getting cream puffs." Yeah, had to slow down 'cuz only Gerad was keeping up and I didn't want to be around only him. But, eventually we got our cream puffs. Damn those things are good! Keeks and Joaquin were so funny eating their's cuz they really didn't know how to eat them. It was their first time to the fair and they had never had them before. Joaquin ended up getting cream all over himself. There was powdered sugar all over his pants by the time he was done.

After that we headed towards the animals. Only after we went to find Aaron and Casey who had wandered off since they didn't get cream puffs. Then we spent fifteen minutes outside the pig barn while Keeks and Megan tried to win this stupid soccer thing. Emily and I were so bored that we just randomly started dancing to the music that was playing at a booth nearby. It was soooooo boring! Once they were done we finally could go look at animals. We pretty much had to make a bwee-line through the pig building cuz everyone was complaining about the smell. I'm just like, "You realize that it's gonna smell the same in every barn right?" Yeah, still just rushed through.

After that It was the Cow Barn. Normally I don't spend a lot of time in this barn simply 'cuz you just walk down row after row, staring at a bunch of cows' asses. Not that much fun. It was worse this time simply because they all kept stopping every two minutes to look at the cows. Never mind that they all are the same and look alike. Once we finally got done with the barn we realized that we had a problem. Keeks and Joaquin couldn't be found. They were gone

That set off a minor panic attack in me because I'm just like "Great we are at an event with thousands of people in a very big place........How are we gonna find them?" We stood around the cow barn while Gerad went back in to look for them. He had no luck but we still stood there in case they were around the building and they could find us. After a while though, Emily and I got tired of waiting so we took Megan and went next door to the Horse barn to see the Clydesdales.

The horse barn is my favorite part of the fair. Being the horse nuts that I have been since childhood, I could spend hours in that barn. Unfortunately I only got to spend like 20 minutes inside it. Since We A) got to the fair so late and B) spent so much time looking for Keeks and Joaquin, by the time we got to the horse barn they were already starting to prepare the horses for the evening hitch competition. That meant that pretty much every aisle was blocked off. Not getting to see all of the horsies made me very not happy.

After that, we found a nice picnic table to sit at and try to figure out what to do about Keeks and Joaquin. While we were sitting there, the guys came over since they were having no luck finding them. We sat there for a while, just doing nothing. Casey started tickling Megan and we were all making fun of her cuz she refused to laugh about it cuz she didn't want to be loud. Whatever that meant. Eventually (I think it was Aaron) came walking over with Keeks and Joaquin, who ever it was saw them walking out of the horse barn and went to go get them.

By now I am beyond pissed at the two of them. As soon as they sit down by us, Gerad is like "Come here so I can "slap" you guys before Mary does." All he did was tap them on the face and its a good thing to because I was ready to just all out punch them. They had apparently walked out of the barn instead of going down the last aisle and that is how we lost them. They also don't see the logic in that if they are two people out of 8 they should probably stay were they are so that the bigger group could come find them.

By this time I am ready to kill someone. So I just walk away to the Wisconsin Products building to go eat, cuz I am pissed and haven't eaten all day. I didn't care if they were following or not. I left. They all did follow but I really didn't care. I just wanted my bison and veal sticks and my milk. I got it and I was happy again.

After that we decided to head towards the big expo building. Along the way, I had to stop at the Mile Market under the Milwaukee Mile Grandstand. They were all going super slow so Gerad and I just walked off. We walked the whole thing and back and they hadn't gotten 1/4 of the way through it. They were all sitting at some swing display. I'm just like whatever and I go look at jewelry. During that time someone called (thank god) to say that they were on their way down there. I was soooo happy after that!

Emily had come to find me after that and we got a few charms for our Italian charm bracelets. Since they had been sitting there for a while we didn't think they would miss us for the five minutes that we were gone. We were wrong because as soon as we got to the display they were not there. We call one of their cells (Well not Gerad since I had his) and found out that they all just left for the expo building without telling us. Bastards! We had to run there because it was starting to rain.

As soon as we found them we went into the building to shop! We had to pause for a sec. cuz I had gotten a call from someone saying parking down there was crap and they might just go home instead. Considering how late in the day it was and how late we were gonna stay, I couldn't force them to come down. But considering how crazy everyone was making me, inside I was screaming "You can't leave me here with these people!!!!!!!" After that we went shopping. The group kept separating from me and Emily, so finally we just stopped looking for them. We went shopping on our own. This was probably a good thing considering we can either go really fast or really slow. Totally happy cuz I bought one places last Kasey Kahne picture! Ha!

After that someone finally showed up! Yeah! Made me sooo happy cuz now I wouldn't have to worry about Gerad molesting me! Cuz damn that boy can get all touchy feely with his hugs and stuff. So after that we went and got more food. Emmy got pizza and I got milk, and we went and watched the horsies at the coliseum. Mary was supper happy 'bout that.

After that Nick, Aaron, Emily, and I left. We really didn't want to stay much longer and the others did. So we went home. After dropping Aaron off at his house, the three of us went to Nick's and played an intense game of Mario Party. Nick actually won, for like the second time ever! That was probably one of the highlights of the day.......Sadly!
